WEON: The Mysterious Perfume Inspired by Northern Chile

/

Spiritica, an Italian perfume company, has launched an extraordinary fragrance named ‘WEON,’ inspired by the enigmatic landscapes of northern Chile. The brand aims to transport its customers to the Valley of the Moon, a place it describes as “a ghostly, mystical, and unusual landscape.”

A Unique Scent Profile

According to Spiritica, the scent of ‘WEON’ is built around the “alcoholic reminiscence of Pisco Sour,” a well-known South American cocktail, and the “bitter notes of coca leaves.” These elements create a distinctive olfactory experience, evoking both the essence of Chilean traditions and the mysteries of its northern regions.

Additional fragrance notes include black mint, white mint, milk, vanilla ice cream, and copihue balm, resulting in a rich and complex scent composition. The perfume is designed to provide a sensory journey that captures the spirit of Chile’s high-altitude deserts and mystical folklore.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name ‘WEON’ has sparked curiosity among consumers. Spiritica explains that the word originates from an ancient indigenous language and is widely used throughout Chile. While commonly employed in everyday speech with various connotations, its primary meaning is that of “friendship”—akin to saying “compà” in southern Italy.

However, beyond its colloquial use, the brand insists that ‘WEON’ is deeply connected to the “mysteries” of northern Chile. The region is renowned for its enigmatic phenomena, where, as Spiritica claims, “it is common to observe lights and strange shapes moving quickly in the sky.” The perfume seeks to encapsulate the mystical energy of this unique place, offering a spiritual and sensory awakening to those who wear it.

Luxury and Exclusivity

Spiritica positions ‘WEON’ as part of its exclusive line of luxury perfumes and niche fragrances. The perfume is priced at 190 euros (approximately 189,046 Chilean pesos), with an additional shipping cost of 80 euros to Chile, bringing the total to 268,644 Chilean pesos.

Despite its premium pricing, ‘WEON’ has gained significant attention internationally. The well-known perfume reviewer Matías Ross shared his impressions of the fragrance on social media, describing it as “a sensation from another planet.” He also highlighted its success in France, where it has reportedly become a bestseller.

A Tribute to Chilean Mysticism

More than just a fragrance, ‘WEON’ represents a tribute to Chile’s mystical landscapes and cultural heritage. Through its unique blend of scents and symbolic name, the perfume invites wearers to immerse themselves in the spirit of the Atacama Desert, a land of wonders and unexplained mysteries.

For fragrance enthusiasts seeking an olfactory experience unlike any other, ‘WEON’ stands as a bold and intriguing choice that bridges the worlds of luxury perfumery and Chilean mysticism.
